There are many scrumptious traditional foods in Bahrain. For breakfast Bahrainis usually eat an omelette cooked with tomatoes or veggies. Another traditional food Bahrainis have for breakfast would be ‘Balaleet’, which basically are short sweet noodles with omelette on top. For lunch Bahrainis eat rice; if it is white rice it is usually served with rabbit-fish and tomatoes as well as arugula. Machboos is also a famous Bahraini dish. It is usually served with chicken or fish. It is rice with many different spices: turmeric powder (used for colour), cumin powder, cardamom powder cinnamon etc. It has garlic and ginger in it too. Moreover, muhammar is another famous Bahraini dish: sweet rice with sugar and dates. Many of the fish served with rice would be mackerel and grouper etc. Additionally, an example of one of the delicacies would be Quzzi: rice and grilled lamb with onions plus spices and eggs.

 

Bahrain also has delicious desserts. Halwa is basically is a red or green jelly-like substance made out of saffron, corn starch and some nuts. Kh’anfaroosh is like an Arabic Bahraini version of cupcakes: ingredients: flour, egg, sugar, yeast, cardamom, saffron and rose water It is usually served with Arabic coffee, Qahwa, served in a miniature cup that is specialized for it .Khubuz Raqaq is basically extremely thin bred which is probably as thin or thinner than crisps. It is sweet flatbread and would do a great snack to eat with cream cheese or Nutella etc. Tiny sweet samosas stuffed with nuts and honey. Madrooba is another well-known dish in Bahrain. Additionally, Bahraini vegetable kebab is another traditional food which is a mixture of vegetables and chickpea flour which gets fried. It is eaten in special occasions such as the national day plus Ramadan onwards….Bahraini food consists oil in a lot of its food:vegetableBahraini kebab,Khanfaroosh,fried fish and much more..Nevertheless, there are ways that  can make i a bit more suitable for people with cholestrol such as instead of frying the fish you grill them or instead of fryingthe vegetable kebab and khanfaroosh using  lot of oil you can use and air fryer(not necessarilythe same taste).
